ABSTRACT
The paper presents the effect of double subsoiling on selected physical and water properties of compacted soils in Koliňany object in the district of Nitra in Slovakia. The research included field work and laboratory tests. In the field made two soil pits (OK1 and OK2) and water permeability were measured in the arable layer and subsoil layer in four points (PK1, PK2, PK3 and PK4). The research was conducted in the soil without subsoiling (OK1) and subsoiling twice – in autumn 2012 to a depth of 35 cm and a second time in the spring of 2013, a depth of 60 cm. Water permeability test was conducted in the soil without subsoiling (PK1), subsoiling twice (PK2) and once subsoiling (PK3 and PK4) to a depth of 35 cm. Laboratory work included the determination of the basic physical properties of soils methods commonly used in soil science. Results of research showed that the double subsoiling of soil profile on the object Kolíňany contributed significantly to increase the soil water permeability.
