The aim of the paper was assessment the possibility of estimating the water evaporation from the roof surfaces on the basis of selected seven empirical formulas for estimating evaporation from water surface. The investigations were conducted from May to September 2011 and 2012 in the storage logistic centre area situated in Modlniczka near Krakow, at the experimental station composed of experimental roof and the automatic meteorological station. Monthly evaporation sum have been calculated using seven different formulas. Given results were compared with measured data. Monthly sum of evaporation calculated using the empirical formulas were lower than values measured. The average monthly sum of evaporation for period have been calculated using equations created by Penman, Iwanow, Schmuck and Bac. Conversion factors for this formulas have been calculated, allowing to use the formulas to estimate water evaporation from roof surface. To estimate the water evaporation from the roof surface Bac formula with calculated conversion factor is suggested.
