ABSTRACT
The aim of the study is to analyze and assess of tourist movement and its spatial diversity in the Popradzki Landscape Park (PPK) and its protection zone. The analysis allowed to distinguish the most frequently visited places and to determine the most frequented directions of tourist movements on individual routes in the years 2013–2015. The research was conducted with the help of 21 motion sensors also known as migratory, located in the Popradzki Landscape Park and its protection zone. Data have been obtained from the Organization of Landscape Parks of the Malopolska region. Nature reserves, PTTK hiking trails, and educational trails were the most monitored areas. The research results of monitored areas are a valuable source of statistical data during the planning of tourist movement, especially in places the most visited by tourists. The knowledge about intensity, structure, and scope of tourist movement is a basis for developing appropriate policies for sharing protected areas to tourists as well as protecting them from potential damage. The implemented monitoring does not reflect the actual situation of tourist movement in the whole area of PPK. The majority of tourist routes is not monitored in any way.
