The subject of the study was analysis the quality of public consultation for the environmental impact assesment on the example of incineration plant for municipal waste in Tarnow region. The purpose of study was to examine the public and verify each stage of public consultation. All of these elements were confronted with generally accepted legal conditions and standards. Public opinion polls, which took place in Tarnów and Wola Rzędzińska were carried out on the basis of a questionnaire consisting of 29 questions. For answers, were used two methods: Paper and Pencil Interview and Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing. Moreover, there were carried out local interview which allowed to obtain general information about the meetings with residents. There were received 35 answers from citizens. Research results allowed to characterize the public consultation and assess their quality. More generally, citizens had a positive view about meetings, but specified a number of errors. The evaluation process of public consultation is necessary in order to receive conclusions and recommendations.
